About us

Making Japan's local waste rules easier to act on

GomiSense is built for expats, international residents, students, and visitors who need a useful answer before the next collection morning.

What we do

The app combines camera-assisted item recognition, municipality-aware guidance, collection reminders, and recycling-point discovery. This website adds explainers for recurring questions such as bulky waste, electronics, futons, ward schedules, and public-bin etiquette.

How we handle local rules

Japanese waste rules can vary by municipality, ward, neighborhood, and building. We use official municipal and national sources wherever possible, show those sources on decision-critical pages, and tell readers to treat the municipality as the final authority.

Who writes the guides

Guides are maintained by the GomiSense Editorial Team under our published editorial policy. Corrections can be sent to contact@gomisense.com.
